Accent Modification

The SRS Accent Modification Book begins with an informal assessment administered by the instructor, followed by numerous practice activities and helpful tips for the student. Students will become aware of the erred sound by first using discrimination exercises, followed with word, sentence, and story practice exercises. The suprasegmentals of English are further described in the voice, speech, and prosody sections of the book, where students can practice self-awareness of their speech patterns. Literacy

The SRS Literacy Book bridges literacy goals with phonemic awareness and articulation goals. Students have access to 24 consonant sound-based stories, followed by a phonemic awareness guide, to probe acquisition of the sound. In addition, there are 18 vowel sound-based stories. Both consonant and vowel stories capture the print letter (orthographic) combinations of the target vowel sound.
